‘He LIED to Us, It Feels Like a Gut Punch!’: Trump Supporters Come Out to Express Their Regret for Voting Trump
Everyone is in for a very stupid four years. That’s a given. But it’s going to be worse for some people than for others. Obviously women will suffer more than men, brown people will suffer more than white people, and the LGBTQ+ community is going to suffer more than straight folks.
But maybe the ones who will suffer the most will be those who either are one of those things or love someone who is, who actually voted for Trump. They have to live with themselves while all of this suffering is going on.
Black Republicans are pretty upset. Imagine selling out politically for a party that already doesn’t like you, only to one day see it led by a guy who turned away people who looked like you as renters 50 years ago. Then imagine selling out specifically to show support for that proven racist, only to find that your soul wasn’t worth a measly Cabinet position.
Ironically, the one thing that Trump consistently picks the Black guy for is Housing and Urban Development (he picked Ben Carson last time, and Scott Turner this time). You know, the Department that was created by Congress to prevent people like Donald Trump from refusing to rent to Black people.
Rosa here is confusing Donald Trump with Barack Obama. Don’t get me wrong, Obama deported more immigrants than all the presidents before him combined. But he deported folks who had committed crimes other than just entering the country illegally. That’s what Rosa here is talking about.
Unfortunately, entering the country illegally is its own crime as well, and Trump has promised to target exactly the people that Rosa thinks will be safe: Everyone, even the ones who haven’t had other legal trouble.
Turns out Rosa there wasn’t the only one who got suckered by Trump’s deportation plan. This guy made the rookie mistake of not believing that Trump would do exactly what he promised to do from the beginning of the campaign. Now he’s shuddering at the thought of having to go without immigrant labor, because “they won’t deport MY workers, will they?!?”
That guy in South Dakota must have called a meeting with the rest of America’s racist-but-only-against-immigrants-who-DON’T-work-for-them farmers. Let’s see how that works out for them.
Union leaders and workers who crossed the line and voted for the party that always screws over unions, just because Trump said he wasn’t going to, are getting, well… screwed again. Of COURSE he lied. Did you not notice the major American newspaper that documented his first term as president by how many tens of thousands of lies he told?
I actually almost feel bad for all the people who were confused about tariffs. I mean, I don’t feel bad that they’re upset now, but I do feel bad that they missed civics class in high school. Tariffs are a thing the US needed at one point. We don’t need them now. They make things worse now. They are outdated and hurt American businesses, stores, workers, and consumers. There you go, guy on Reddit. There’s your counter argument.
Libertarians who voted for Trump are a special bunch. I mean, libertarians are already a special bunch just due to not understanding how anything works. They’re kind of like toddlers or housecats. They’re completely convinced that they’re independent and self-reliant, but they are kept alive by a complex system that they don’t recognize, acknowledge, or understand.
That, of course, means they also don’t understand how Donald Trump works.
“I’m a Republican, but” I completely hate the GOP’s entire stance on health care. Ma’am, if health care is important to you in any way, I suggest you revisit, at some point, your stance on “probably always” voting for Republicans.
If health insurance is against your moral beliefs because of your Christianity, have I got some questions for you about p*ssy-grabbing
This exchange came after Trump’s comments on Luigi Mangione, the man accused of killing United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Who could possibly have guessed that Trump would side with the rich guys?
